Nip Tuck

A very trendy practice in China among the young. For about $8 you can have your eyelashes extended...glued onto your real ones. These are, of course, temporary lasting anywhere between 1 week to a month depending on how the girl takes care when washing her face. The funny thing is that you may even go there again for "maintenance", trimming and/or replacing for up to 3 months free of charge!
This is my gf getting fixed up before that modeling contest she was so crazy about...
I have noticed too much grain at ISO800 especially around red and magenta areas...same problem anybody?

Hi Oscar
I think these type of images get too overlooked on this forum. Yes, there are problems with it - too much noise (not always a bad thing) and the movement of the mouth do detract a little, but I like your composition - the figures in the BG are out of focus nicely, but fit with the foreground action.
It's an interesting view of life which I knew nothing about, being neither particularly young, female or chinese!! Good documentary shot!
Maybe if you'd stuck a flower or a butterfly in the foreground there would have been more interest!! ;-)
kind regards

Thanks for your supportive comments Andy! Oh well, I'm not into botanical shots myself though, for popularity sake, I might try to include a colourful bug in my shot next time! :-P

Oscar, a fine documentary shot. I like the depth of field and the sharpness around the eye. The colors are very nice too. Was your girlfriend talking? It looks like her lips are moving. There is a bit of noise. Did you use software to reduce it? I find that at ISO 800 full exposure is critical to reducing noise. Any underexposure really increases the noise. so I use Raw and expose as far to the right on the histogram as I can without totally blowing the highlights.
