I should wish I could give you some constructive criticism, but I can’t. As with so many of your pictures I just can’t see how it could possibly have been done better. This is so very nice with the strict/clean lines on the wall and granite (?) foundation, soft pattern on the red, mixture of tree and shadows of the tree (almost look as it’s all shadows, but not quite so) and those tiny bits of leaves in the upper right corner (a nice touch which works so well and which you often seem to include in your pictures – those small things others perhaps would clone away or crop off) and the white dots on the wall (which contribute to make the picture lively/non-sterile).

... ups - I meant tiny bits of leaves in the upper l_e_f_t_ corner.

If Caroline ...

hadn´t mentioned these lousy tiny leaves, I hadn´see them. So I have to agree with her about this point.

But this is the only one I could see so far what distract me. On the other way this is a picture what I like very well. It has a mood of "strong quiet"? The same time I thougt at this picture, I heard "In the street of philadelphia" which seemed to be as "easy going" as this picture (Hmmm, is this to understand?).

I like this a lot, at the ancient rating system 10 / 10.

Congrats, Ferd.

Horst...

... I love those tiny bits of leaves. They don't distract me at all. They make the picture better than it would have been without. :-)

Thanks, Caroline & Horst. Caroline: I very often like to leave fragments as little rewards for looking all the way to the edges. This was my thought in Wall 2 with the tiny bits of the stone arches at left, too. Horst: If I understand correctly, I think you're actually disagreeing with Caroline on the leaf fragments, but that's OK, too. I'm not sure I understand the "Streets of Philadelphia" part, since this shot was taken in Los Angeles!

I like this for all the reasons that Caroline states so will not bore you with repetition. A good eye you have there :-)

I was rewarded Ferd. I saw and liked the bit of leaves. This is another wonderful composition and as with Caroline there is nothing I would change. I love the colors, graphics and the silhouette of the tree branches and the shadows. Keeping part of the entrance in the picture works very well. The textures are very nice too.
