Thanks for your comment Dee Vee, but you are quite wrong about the eyes not being in focus. They are..her sweater is sharp from the front of the collar to the right all the way round to below her ear. In addition, the hair across her left eye is sharp, as is her earring. Her eyes are sharp.

Best wishes- Andy

I like this very much. It looks more like a memory than a photo.

Perhaps the sample down has softened it, Andy?

The plane of her face does look quite smooth. Then again, that could be an illusion because her freckles are not hard edged. The compo is beautifully balanced and I like the shy smile. The OoF discs in top left complement her backlit hair. Very nice child portrait.

Hi Rob, I guess this does look a little soft, but I think it has more to do with the lighting. Laura was sitting in front of bright white plastic table and so I think that light bounced off that, coupled with a fair complexion has led to the softness in her face. I tried hard to develop her skin tones as best as I could, but couldn't lift more detail than I got here. Looking at the original her eyelashes and brows look pretty sharp.

A very interesting comment Craig, I know just what you mean.

Denis, this is quite different in look from my earlier post, but not as easy to process as the last. Still, I am quite happy with it I have to say. Many thanks for the high score.

Best wishes- Andy
