I was going to call this picture: The Island of meditation in the Sea of Saturation and Liquidity. It came about as I was trying to work out how to move things around in PS but is it a Photograph? Pure chance. The top right hand quarter is the original shot.

Oh - inspiration for a image tomorrow!! I'm very happy I saw this.

It sue is interesting and just a little scary. There is a character in Tolkien's Ring cycle called the Ent and this is very reminescent of one.

Very curious image - interesting.

I think he looks like a Chinese Buddha figure (Chinese Buddhas are fat while for example Thai Buddhas are slim somebody once told me) thrown into an unfamiliar Northern hemisphere environment and not feeling particularly comfortable. Yup, I would call this a photo. It’s based on a photo and even though you have (I think) put two halves together and used the “liquid” tool it still looks more like a photo than anything else. I like the result – I think you have used the PS effects nicely here – not overdone things.

Thanks every body for commenting and I am so glad you enjoyed it, I nearly didn't post it as I though it was a bit 'light'. As it had sort of just arrived on my computer with out doing much but it made me smile. Caroline I am glad he's a Chinese Buddha but what he's doing in N Devon is anyones guess. Keeping an eye on how we use PS tools without going too far? So our ideas are still intact? I wonder if you can have subconscious photographs? Eleanor many thanks - very generous. I am glad you enjoyed.

Changed my mind

I have often joked that you can take a poor image, play for hours in PS and end up with a brightly coloured poor image!

I go to a creative photography group. There is a very creative lady there called Ann Cole and she showed the group what could be done with PS.

This is another nail in the coffin of my 'smart' comment.

Well done!

Eugene, many thanks for comments I had nearly forgotten this shot as I thought he'd slipped off the viewing platform. One for the computer generated category - perhaps? Rex your camera club looks pretty good, Ann Cole's work is slightly Dali-ish, good link which I will look at it again later. I think I will search out some more of her work. Many thanks for your thoughts.
