very interesting place here... and a nice pano...in terms of compo i have a feeling that i need two more shots here (one of the right and one on the left) but this is just my first initial reaction when i see this...

Informative

Stephen:

I am a bit surprised to learn that you find such landscapes in England. It looks so typical of winter in the New Mexico deserts.

I find the image quite attractive with interesting foreground and a good feeling for the expance of the space.

Technically the pano works well. The foreground is sharp with only a little softness noticable in the distance.

I find it surprising that you do so well without a tripod.

Best wishes...

Vertical panoramic?

Do you mean with the camera oriented in portrait format or 3 images stacked vertically? Anyway, I like it, Stephen. Gives the impression oif a much wider focal length with that implied curve in the horizon.

Many thanks for all your comments, I did consider an extra shot on the left but I would then have been shooting directly into the sun and wouldn't have been able to get the exposure right. I generally use the camera in the portrait format which allows for a wider panoramic image using one sweep of the view and gives a little more leeway for cropping when I'm shooting without a tripod, I then use the Autostitch (www.autostitch.net) software to do the final stitching.

Great Pano ...

Stephen. Like it a lot. Compo works well for me. Great light and landscape.

Kind Regards,
