This image has been cropped.
To a lot of photographers the frame is more important than the image. So in this, the frame is the image.

these kind of frames had become popular in germany. for sure with a corresponding image inside. some people are used to call it kitsch.
but this had to be viewed as a standalone 'image'. as an attemp to question how people are used to view pictures it works for me (don't know if it works for others in this manner). the 'rustic' appearance fits well. but I would not hang it on my wall.
PS agree with James about the good choosen crop. leads indeed well into the trees.

The illusion of bevelling is superb. Excellent post-processing work. I think you've preserved the most important part of the image.

:-D :-D :-D
I’m laughing for all the wrong reasons now. I have seen pictures with this concept on TV, but I won’t any more. The Norwegian supreme court just ruled that Norwegian television companies no longer will be forced to put a black square on top of all porn movies shown on Norwegians TVs. Hardly any public discussion. I didn’t even see “hard core religious groups” bothering to protest. Guess just most people have been thinking for years that the censorship of porn films is ridiculous. The only “discussion” there has been is that some comedians have been concerned about the mental health of those who have become addicted to the black squares. Well – something like this would be a comfort/medicine for them. :-D

But there is a problem developing with this series Edwin.
I'm paraphrasing Ernst Hass here, but are you selecting these and working on them with your eyes open? Surely to remove any trace of your own aesthetic you have to remove any trace of knowledge of what it is you are working on....don't you?
Best wishes- Andy
