B&W

Z:

I find this, technically, pretty good B&W. It's sharp with high-contrast.

Though, I think I see what you're getting at with the subject. personally I would prefer to see just the falls and surrounding rock..."less is more". But, this is a matter of personal taste.

Even with the human figure in the picture, I think a different crop might improve the image... bit less of the folidge at the top and a bit more of the falls in the left foreground.

Happy to see someone else interested in B&W... joe

The Photographer

Personally, I'd like a wee bit more contrast between the photographer, and the background rocks? He kinda blends in a bit too much... I'd try moving ME to the right, to let the waterfall frame him a bit more? Otherwise, nice to see monochrome. I haven't tried that digitally yet, as I'm still running an OM4 and Ilford HP5 for B&W!

More variation

Good eye. But try for mor avatiations in your shooting, variety of camera positions and focal lengths. Tim's suggestion is what I thought of first off. Move to the right, and if possible fill the frame with waterfall and the photographer semi silhouetted (sp?) against the falls. Exposure is good to keep detail in water and rocks.
