The Cubist grapes
Exif is for the Grapes. 'Pictorial Mathematics leads me to the physical representation' - Juan Gris 1923 "....straightforward vertical oblique projection. If that were not all, these objects would appear quite solid, but the Cubists were most anxious that their pictures stand as objects in themselves rather than simply being windows into space; consequently the rest of the picture is made up of a series of devices which destroy the illusion of space and emphasize the picture surface." From 'Drawing systems' by Fred Dubery and John Willats. I have used just plan and side elevations.

This is a more "painterly" approach. Yet another way. Personally, I prefer a more photographic approach, but that is not a critique. Just a personal preference. Most interesting...

To complete your sentance.
... to pose the question if Vermeer and Reynolds used a Camera obscura to make paintings? Is it now possible ... Thought provoking. Thanks for the comment.

This looks ...
very graphic to me, Martin, and I like it a lot. As E. Edwin said, just another approach.
Re camera obscura: David Hockney is quite sure that they have used camears obscura to produce paintings (Secret Knowledge: Rediscovering the Lost Techniques of the Old Masters von David Hockney).
Curious about some more of this kind from you?
Best wishes,

Horst, it was you Edwin and Michael's experimenting that got me thinking about 'cubist photography' and having go myself from my stand point. If nothing else I am learning a lot about photoshop and myself by trying something new. So many thanks. Also the book title sounds worth a search for so many thanks for that as well. To weather I shall pursue this line of enquiry - some other ideas came out of this piece but I can't say if I will post any more though it may influence future things. Regards.

David I am glad you enjoyed it. I nearly again didn't post as I felt it looked to much like a magazine spread and then it developed into a pastiche of Juan Gris. Thanks for the time.

I really like this, very different, and refreshing. However I think the block of pixels in the left bottom distract a bit. Nice one though, I like your choice of subject and the colour

Cheers Nicolas and thanks for the rating. If look at the thumbnail you can see the grapes in the large pixal block it's all a matter of scale. ;-))
