Photojournalism is not my usual "style", but on friday I had an opportunity and got very lucky with several shots. Here is one.

Close?
Edwin:
I'm no judge of photo journalism, but I think this is a great shot. I'm sure the candidate would be quite pleased to have it widely viewed. It captures a kind of rapport with supporters that politicans seek to create.
I wonder how you got so close. I would expect security to have precluded this.
Best wishes...joe

I was a volunteer
I was one of twenty people that had volunteered to work with the traveling press, so I could get close. No easy feat at that given the various reports of between 50 and 75,000 people in Waterfront Park to see him. But I persisted and got close to the bus with many worried secret service agents around... many seen in the image. I got some other very good shots, but this one tells a story words alone can not tell. You can see that Kerry looks genuinely happy to see this woman, a person that he had never met.

Cool shot Edwin. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!

Why?
Senator Kerry invited her down to meet him and to have her picture taken with him. She was looking at a friend with a camera...
