Wow

How do you create/capture that amazing effect, the gradient sky is great.

Mmmmm.....those colors! I love the way the sky goes from a deep tangarine orange to an almost maroonish red. The long-exposure water is so smooth and milky, and the yellow of the boat seems to work really well with the colors of the sky. I like these kinds of shots that are somewhere between real and surreal, but there is one area I wish looked more natural and that is the way the boat is lit. The lighting seems harsh, as if there is a spotlight shining directly on the boat . I can imagine a version where the boat is not illuminated directly, but is almost glowing from the long exposure. I think it would fit more seamlessly into the rest of the image that way. But this isn't my shot, I know! I would be very happy if it were; even the boat is a relatively small matter for me because I like so many things about this image. Would love to see some more like this if you have any.

Thanks

Thanks all for passing by

Elisabeth: Actually the front of the boat was lighted in this way becoz it was exposed to a weak light from some distant houses.

Thank you for the explanation, Michel. That makes sense. I still find this to be a remarkable image after staring at it off and on for over a day.
