Not sure whether to have the walker there or not. Any opinions?

Personally I'd definitely keep him.

This reminds me of what a remarkable tree the willow is, because wherever it comes to rest it will continue to grow (assuming it doesn't make it all the way to the sea)! If there was ever a symbol of everlasting life the willow would surely fit. I don't think I've ever seen a dead one.

By the way, what tributary of the Humber is this then?

Thanks Chris - it's the river Hull that runs past my house about half a mile away. He is walking on the flood defence so hopefully it will stay half a mile away.

the addition of the human is welcome here ( i was thinking about a more pano crop which could enhance the image? no? )

Yes - that's a good suggestion Dee Vee. I wanted to keep the tips of the branches and reflections but that gives me a lot of dead space. Good idea.

I like this. I think it works with or without the walker but, with the dimensions as presented, I have a slight preference for without. I like Dee Vee's suggestion. I think a pano crop would enhance the walker's "purpose".

The figure absolutely makes the shot for me, Adrian. I see what you mean about the reflection, but I think dee vee has an excellent suggestion regarding a pano crop, especially since I think the figure makes for an even better focal point than the tree. Love the layers in this one, which a pano crop would probably emphasize even more. Not 100% sure about the slightly pinkish toning, but that's very minor. I like this one a lot.
