The light here is fantastic, and the water dropping! What a great capture. Nice work.

Great light and the subtle colors, think you shot at the right moment. Like it very much.

Just breathtaking, John! I can imagine the excitement at the time you captured this, and also the excitement when you looked at the image on your computer and realized what a great capture you got. What I find most remarkable about this is the way the gulls are, for the most part, all situated above the water line (and they sure fill that space nicely). This wouldn't work half as well IMO if they were distributed both above and below that line. I just love the near-monochromatic look of the brown upper 2/3 and also the equally monochromatic blue layer below. the hint of blue in the bodies of the gulls ties the two parts together very nicely. The floating ducks in the BG are another special element, and I also like the line of twigs cutting through the water. Of course, the lighting is just spectacular. This has to be one of my favorites of yours (and that's choosing from quite a long list!).

Realy like this shot too John. At first I was unsure about the half birds at the top and sides but I think it looks more immediate like that. Superb light on those feathers.
