Amsterdam traffic

What fascinated most about Amsterdam is its bicycle traffic; i could stand in the middle of Dam Square all day long and still be amazed by what i saw: people do everything on their bike, carrying other people, pets, dogs, some, even furniture; people talk on cell while biking, carry their umbrella up high, carry their tennis gear, go in tandem on dates....you name it , all that while dressing up as if they're going to the prom with wool coats , dress, high heel shoes and all, as if the rain doesn't exist !... just amazing! more to come later .... ;-))

HI DV, I know what you mean. Can be fasciniting for people that are not used to bikes for transport as opposed to sports. Also businessmen and even our prime minister and other business people use bicycles to go to work. I can also bee seen frequently on my bike waring suit and tie, having a business case in my bike bag.

Nice composition of some great shot, DeeVee. I like the way you captured the bicyclists. I am also always amazed by the way the Dutch use their bikes. But the fact that everything is flat makes is easier than in many other places.

Very cool photo Dee Vee :) Refreshing to see what people find remarkable or fascinating when they visit a town they never have visited before. I take bikes for granted as I see them all the day every day. I like the post processing also a lot!

indeed Arnoud...it takes a fresh set of eyes to see new perspectives in what we see everyday ... i see people shooting the golden gate from angles i've never thought of before ...taking for granted what we have is our biggest omission , it's like saying oh i live here i don't need to visit the place until you move out and it's 2 late ...there 're a quite a few museums /monuments i haven't been to in wash dc and i lived there for 10 years .... now i have to fly back and visit them all again as a tourist , bummer ...cheers,

I've heard that San Francisco is one of the most interesting and beautiful cities of the United States. I am planning a trip to the US but still i am not decided whether I should go to the East or West coast .. maybe you can convince me?
