A postcard shot of Chateau de Chambord, the largest castle in the Loire valley, France, built for King Francois I from 1519 to 1547; renovations were under way both front and back of the castle, so pardon for the construction ;-))

Is this A building, or is it several buildings. It has lot of towers for one building, towers for a whole city. Great postcard-shot, I like that the tree "branches" follows the construction. It seems that the vignetting in the lower left corner has some greens in it.

thanks Trond, this is one building and a huge one ...i should have caught a human to give this some sense of scale ..from the air it looks like this http://france-for-visitors.com/photo-gallery/loire/aerial-chambord.html ..as to the green, i goofed somewhere, it's actually a sepia tint layer which i inadvertently discolored somehow when working late at night

How dare you take photographs of my house without permission. I shall release the dogs next time! Nice shot and it does look like an old postcard. The yellowish smudge in the bottom left looks like a pp artefact or is it intentional? It does actually add to the antiquity of the shot in a way.

That's some building. Sepia tone works good for this, gives it the "era" feel. Would hate to be the housekeeper :-)

Memories

come back when I see this again. You captured it's splendor quite well. Only now I realise that both times I was there was pre-digital (for me at least, my wife used the C-150, giving crappy photo's). Yo managed to find a spot from where you could capture the whole building without disturbing things in front of it.

Nice shot of King Francois' little "shack" in the country. Like the tree branches peeking in from the top. Well done.
