Great idea and clever original exploration by you. I love images like this that originate from thinking outside the box. It pulsates with mood and that's the icing on the cake for me. I'm not entirely sure about the blur around the top of the hood and the right side of his shoulder/arm but the rest works a treat for me. Still, kudos to you on an original exploration.

Sam, I like the concept of this very much. I think the lighting is great and the tone/color work really well also. I agree with Eugene on the blur but I think maybe a different type of blur or try one without it altogether. Also what I thought was a bad pixel on the dark side of your nose but is instead a stud, (I looked on one of your other shots to make sure) I would clone this out as I think it will cause people to think the same as I did.

Favor? Could you send me some shots of your remote triggers and how they work? I have no experience with that stuff.

An imaginative idea. Carried out well. The Garden fork used as the devil's toasting fork made me smile slightly though, which perhaps destroyed the mood but you can still do some damage with that fork. Which wiped the smirk of my face fast enough. ;-))

hi jeff thanks for your comments, my nose stud, comes out fine in hi res, but i know what your saying. here is a link to where you can get the remote triggers

http://www.gadgetinfinity.com/product.php?productid=16766&cat=0&page=1

they are heaps of fun and so cheap ( a side note- if you get some, beware that due to the cheap chinese build they do seem to have a few dodgy units floating around but gadget infinity are great with customer service for replacments ( i had 1 bad out of the 4 i own) if you need to know any more about them checkout www.strobist.com and the associated discussions on the http://www.flickr.com/groups/strobist/ great source of info. ( friendly too)

cheers

hi eugene

thanks for comments. i totally agree about the blur(looks a little too photoshopped) but that was purely to mask the fact that i was to lazy to clear the stuff from the backgound BEFORE i took the photo :)) hehe

cheers

thanks for your comments. i was actually going for a American Gothic type idea and the garden fork was the closest i could get to an old fashioned pitchfork. i actually tried a shovel too that was just a little too "Hillbilly serial killer" LOL

cheers
