2008 MFT Calendar Ready!

2007-Nov-02
by Alan and Mario

The 2008 MyFourThirds.com Calendar is now ready for purchasing. Please note that we have yet to receive the final product as it will take over two weeks for it to be delivered to Canada. Purchase with caution! For those who do receive the calendar sooner, please do comment on the quality of it here in this article. We expect it to be as good or better than last year's calendar which was the best to date. Congratulations to not only the selected winners but to all of you that participated in the process!

Feel free to take a gander and order the calendar at the MyFourThirds.com CafePress store.

Cheers!
Alan and Mario

It will be a joy to look at each image for a whole month. Perhaps the best calendar to date... no pun intended.

I got mine !!!

Recieved mine over the weekend. All the photos look great. The cover shot of Eugene has a few slight gold streaks on the brim of his hat and over his nose. Hope that was just a printing anomaly on mine only.

Also I know that if one submits the same image more than once to MFT, the system by default adds a (1),(2) etc. to each duplicate. It would have been nice if the titles did not include those numbers. Perhaps maybe there is a way that when we enter contests, competitions, etc and we want to use an image that is already in our gallery, the site will take us back to our gallery for choices and use the gallery image rather than having to upload a dup which then gets a dup title with #'s added on.

Pleased and concerned ..

I was very pleased to have my image on the front cover - a good choice all round I think within the context and images that were available for the calendar.

I am happy that Jeff's report is positive about the images but I'm concerned about what he has said about my own. This is a b/w image and should not have what is referred. Hopefully this is a one off.

As a matter of curiosity, was the calendar 'proofed' before going for publication?

I would welcome feedback from anyone else on this who receives theirs, as I have not gotten around to ordering mine yet. Thanks in advance to any who might give such feedback.

I agree with the point about the image numbers.

The front cover looks great to me Eugene. Black and White definitely but the greys are quite warm. I can't see the gold specks so maybe that was just a one off. I too am impressed with the quality of the prints although I wouldn't class myself as an expert. Still fuming over the customs but what the hell! It's only money.

Thanks Adrian. I appreciate that. I was thinking about the gold afterwards and thought - what the hell, the good has to come out somewhere ....

Proofs

To answer Eugene's question about having a "proof" of the calendar, we can only order the calendar like everyone else. We're still waiting for that first copy and that's why we put a warning in the above article that members should "purchase with caution". Fortunately it is getting good reviews so far from those who took the plunge in the dark. :-)

As for having numbers in the title, we considered taking them out but never had problems in previous calendars so we decided to stay true to the names of the winning images. If we hear from the winning members that they would prefer to remove the numbers, then we'll definitely make that change next year. That's easy as pie!

All the best, Alan and Mario

Our copies have arrived!

This calendar has indeed outdone the previous three MFT calendars in terms of print quality and quality of prints! We no longer hesitate to recommend that you order your copy (or copies) today. :-)

Congratulations again members! Alan and Mario

I got my copy of the calendar today. This is with no doubt the best calendar regarding print quality and choice of paper of the four that have been made so far. For the first time I feel like buying more than one copy as this is one I would like to give away as a gift to friends.

A&M: Thanks a lot for all the work you have done providing us with this fine calendar! :-)

Members: Thanks a lot to you too for submitting pictures for the competition and let us all get free access to paper versions of your pictures. :-)

Happy photo hunting in 2008!
