Good point. MFTs has never been a venue for photo essays, and members have never known how to react to them. It always is a battle to suggest that a group of images can tell a story, and that a series may indeed be greater than the sum of the individual images. But that's OK I guess.

there is so much more in a whole series than just in a single image.
but one needs to view and judge a series differently compared to a "one shot"

YES!
You have my whole-hearted support on this. EEE is correct about a series being greater than the sum of it's parts.
But, and this is an observation rather than a negative, MFT has traditionally not been over receptive to "documentary" type endeavours, which is a shame, but that's no reason not to champion it's cause.

Thanks guys! But i think its really important to have this feature "series" "essays" in MFT, i would really like to hear A&M on this one, it would benefict the community both in being creative and giving the experience to comment and also show a full body of work. Regards!

It seems like it would be a simple matter to allow for a new folder option of "Photo Essay". All photos within any member's named "Photo Essay" folder (or folders) would allow for comments on individual images from users of this site, but the option for rating would only be available within the folder that contains all images, which could be viewed as a slide show.
