A most excellent shot Jim. I love the gleam of light in the drop and the colours are just fantastic. I tried to do something like this for the b/w competition and found it very trying, using a pipette dropping waterdrops and hoping for the best firing off a burst of shots! This is really good. A nine for now and maybe revise upwards. Well done.

Best..

Very well done Jim...

and much better, I think, than the previous post. Here's why. I like the way the drop, with its highlight, is now isolated against the plain gray background, and the centering of the image itself. A much better balance and symmetry is achieved with this photo. Thanks for sharing.

Wow!

How many frames did you shoot to get this one? It's just amazing.

(A technical question from a newbie - E1 ordered four days ago! - Is the number of points on the highlight star related to the number of blades in the lens?)

Beautiful!

Please excuse the nit pick, but it seems a bit off vertical.

...Michael, Danny, Blayne and Chris...

Thanks... It took about 50 exposures to get about 6 or so that I was ok with. Danny; yes, the star effect is caused by the apereture blades when stopped down.

Jim, this is even better, I just love the reflection in the upper drop! Now I have a problem, if it is better than the last one, and I gave that a 10, what do I do now.. :-).

WoW

I am not a pro shooter or even a good amatuer, but your pic does inspire to start trying. I gave a 9 because i believe nothing is ever perfect, all though this is damn close, in my humble opinion.
