Thanks Fed. In this photo, there is no "texture". The rock is flat and smooth as glass. The perceived "texture" comes from inside the rock. It's only about 1mm thick, but the back-lighting brings out the details. Regards.

DV, you know how it is - just as I was about to press the shutter release, the Nautilus sailed behind the rocks. Maybe the next one will have Capt. Ahab --- and a big whale too! ;-)))

Thanks for commenting Charles. I think some of the perceived "depth" is from the extremely shallow dof. At this magnification, even at f8, the dof is about the thickness of a piece of paper. ;-)
