Two romantic kids on the lake. The scene has reminded me the famous image of the master Gianni Berengo Gardin , nothing to do with the original ... of course ;-))

somehow the car by itself will lift any photo to higher level (for me that is). The couple plus the cinqueciento is pure magic. I don't know but for me the aggressive processing does not do justice to the lovely scene (and the are areas, e.g. between the car and the left pole in the water, which look wrong). But that's just my (current) preference and other might just love your processing and I hope they do comment if they feel so.

Having read the comments from Klaus, I must say that I tend to agree with him; although the car doesn't have the same effect on me.

With regard to the "aggressive processing”, if I hide the sky above the poles then it feels much better. Probably, the bit in the top right hand corner having the greatest (worst) effect.

I think the problem with the bit between the car and the poles is that there is a band right across the water that feels like a diffused shadow, that in itself is fine but there is a triangle shape in the “problem area” that you can’t see what it is a reflection of.

I hope this makes sense!

Like the scene you have here Fed, perhaps with the subject mater a little less high contrast approach would be worth a try.

The weather turned for the worse and the big cloud looms on the two kids who had sought refuge inside the 500. From there to just a big rainstorm.

I intended to describe the scene emphasizing the clouds. Black and white makes it even more dramatic scene. I assure Image untreated loses all meaning ;.).

Thanks a lot Klaus for comment on, I much appreciate your considerations and I always very helpful to my work.

Treatment rather pushed sometimes produces unexpected effects. My intention was to make the scene dramatic and beautiful at the same time as I told Klaus.

Probably the triangle is the product of an artifact generated by the darker green spot on the hill (the trees and ground movement).

Thanks also to you Chris for the attention you have for my works and are always useful for me your comments.

Charles

Thank you so much Charles for the comment and suggestion, but I made several tests before coming to this image, that is closest to what I saw and heard at the time of shooting ;-).

Thanks again and have a good day, Fed

I like this version better

than the one by Berengo Gardin! I also do not agree with the above commenters re. contrast. Lowering contrast would kill the mood and make the image too sweet. Just my two cents. Did I say I like it very much? ;)

Henk,

I much appreciate your nice words Henk, thanks a lot for support and generous rating :-)). The great atmosphere of "The imagery and the Dream" of Gardin is still unreachable IMHO.

Best regards, Fed

I like the treatment. It looks like you dragged the LR2 brush from left to right to create horizontal stripes of light and dark.

OMG! this is so gorgeous, how long did you have to wait for them to kiss? not long I bet :)), beautiful fog, was it real or PS'ed, Bravo! either way.

Thank you so much Clay, Yes seems so, but I assure no brush LR2 :-)). Cheers Fed

Fed ® Win ¤ at 14:04 EST on 2009-Nov-19 [Reply]

Qvee ..

Thank you for your nice comment. I have waited for nothing ;-)) but really do not know if it was a kiss or a game because the kids were really small. The edges were not well defined and I was positioned far enough.

The light mist was all real / I've worked with PS with lights & shadows (more than one shift when I want to bring out the details).

Thanks so much again for generous rating and to follow my work always :)), Fed

Great photo Fed. I think that's part of the magic of good photos - they breed discussion and controversy. I really like the dark/light horizontal zones in the clouds, land and water. For my taste, I would like to see the light band of water near the far shore toned down just a little so it doesn't overpower the other light areas. Nit picking for sure. Super composition and processing! ;-)
