That's a sad commentary...
on the sign of the times, but true none-the-less. Photographically, good documentation of the day in which we live.

I wonder if the right hand side couldn't be cropped , though.
Would a polarizing filter help reduce the reflection line across he middle? (I'm just learning how to use my polarizer, so I'm just guessing here.)

Perhaps those who "steal" the items merely cut out the middle man and associated overhead costs in charitable distribution. ;-)
I think this is a well executed image of a well chosen subject.
I find the reflection interesting and would not have chosen to use a polarizer. Actually, I'd probably shoot two versions, one with and one without polarizer...just to see which was more effective.
