... like the subject, the comp and the treatment, the whites are clean, but not blown, a kind of super realism. That little corner of building in the shadow on the right could be replaced with sky.

Thanks for commenting, Gentlemen. I was a little disappointed in the colors that came out on my uploaded version of this shot, myself. I was especially impressed with the great colors that I got from my E1--the very "Kodachrome like" primary colors, but on my monitor the MFT version has an overall magenta tinge that wasn't on my screen in the original. I haven't quite figured out a solution to this problem. I do see what you mean about the building to the right, Stirling, and I agree with you. I guess I was trying to preserve the original realism a little much.

I have no problem with the colors, they looks great and beautiful to my eyes; especially the red, white, and the blue sky.

As for your problem, make sure you saved your image in sRGB (converted to sRGB), as I have probably the same problem when I saved an image in ProPhoto RGB.

magenta cast ...

George,

I don't any magenta cast. Could be color management issue with your browser. I loaded it into LR4 and sampled the whites numerous places. Most everywhere within half a precent of pure white. If anything there is a little cool tint but very minor. My eyes see some magenta vertical stripes next to shadows on the left back building but it's an optical illusion since I can't measure it. There is an aspect of color psychology involved with this. The classic treatment was called something like simultaneous contrast identified by Michel Eugène Chevreul.

warm strips back building ...

I looked at 800% and there are some warm artifacts of some sort along the shadow highlight border. I think this is pretty normal. Lots of weird things happen on borders between dark an light. If you get the vertical dark/light borders dense enough the you might begin to see an over cast. But that's really not a problem with this image.

Color problem...

Thanks again Sterling and thanks Yoki. I have isolated my problem and have found a cure, although not an explanation. It's my browser! I have been using Google's Chrome, but when I used Mozilla's Firefox or Microsoft's Internet Explorer the problem was not there. Funny that I had never noticed that before. I'll just stop using Chrome at least until I figure it out. I really do appreciate your comments.
